More new dogs after Christmas...

The little wet girl was being thrown into the water by a small kid as she were a toy of some sort. The other 3 young pups were at the road and they were starving.

Old Fred

Yesterday I found old Fred dead. He has been at the beach just a few months and he was kind of grumpy, but i missed him. He was old, but somehow I'm almost sure he didn't died of old age--maybe an illness or poison.

A kitty at the beach

I found this kitten today at the beach following someone who was jogging. I think he's around 2 months old. I was about to leave because I was going out on a trip to Mayaguez, but I couldn't leave him with all those dogs at the beach either, so I took him home and left him in my room with food, water, kitty litter and a couple of toys. I can take him to the vet for a checkup and vaccinations but I can't keep him at home. So if someone is willing to take him or knows someone who can take him, PLEASE let me know.

Two new puppies

In the middle of my ordeal with Duque today, I found these two little puppies at the abandoned boathouse gates, a boy and a girl. They kind of look like Kody, but black with white boots. I already started them in DHLPP shots and Pyrantel. The pictures are not good because i took them with my cellphone camera but soon I'll take better ones.

Sad news: Duque

Duque had to be euthanized today, his brain seemed to be very damaged. Up until now it's not sure but it could have been provoked by poison.

Naguabo Beach

I recently went to El Malecon in Naguabo beach and I found several dogs around, two of them with a pretty bad case of mange. One of them is really young. Gosh, I had to give them some food. They were so sweet and specially a red Chow mix male stole my heart. He followed me everywhere as my personal guide—I really love him! He will really be a good pet. I hope someome is feeding them in that area. I’m sure the ones with mange are going to get better if someone put some Ivermectin in the food or water. Does anyone knows if someone feeds the dogs in that area?

Three new dogs

These three are new from today. The two Chihuahua mixes were darting everywhere, they are very fast runners. I think they may be related. I found a corn bag with holes near where i saw them for the first time--maybe someone brought them there, just like Isis, Diana & Venus. One of them is male (the white one) and the other is female. The Rottweiler seems to be young and he's gentle and sweet.

Geminid meteor shower

The annual Geminid meteor shower, which peaks the night of December 14/15, is typically one of the best of the year. Occurring less than a month after the Leonids, the Geminid shower generally features brighter meteors. In 2007, the Moon will be a waxing crescent setting in midevening, so its light will have little effect on viewing. The Geminids are so named because, if you trace all the meteor trails backward, they would meet within the boundaries of the constellation Gemini the Twins. This point, called the radiant, lies approximately 3° northwest of the 1st-magnitude star Castor.

Another puppy: Kody

Kody is about the same age as Yogui but smaller in size. Somehow he reminds me of Ishtar but smaller and a little mangy.

Animal welfare

Every time the government, their agencies or some corporation say they want to do something about animal welfare—usually it’s not true. They usually mean they want to find some way to get rid of animals without offering them so much as a real chance in life. They are “trying” to do something because they are losing money not because they care and they don’t care about how it’s done either.

Most people will content by believing (or deluding themselves) that they at least are being killed “humanely” but—who are they kidding? There’s nothing “humane” about killing innocent victims. If that were really the case why not kill “humanely” old and sick people too? Or children without parents? Or poor and homeless people for that matter? No one really seems to be interested in stopping the cruelty the way it should really be stopped: by punishing the people that commit these crimes.

Another tragedy: Spencer

This time looks like the classic poisoning. Spencer has been at the beach less than a month. I didn't see him the last 2 days and i found him today. He was kind of young. Looks like some bastard is having fun the wrong way.

Karina: another loss

Another tragedy: Karina died yesterday afternoon. In the morning she was as happy as always along Ruby and Jacques. I don't know what happened--i've never seen anything like that before. It seemed like her heart and lungs were coming out of her mouth and she didn't have any visible injuries. I burried her near Murphy.
