Sad news

Yadira is dead. I saw her body in the middle of a road near town this morning on my way to the beach. I feel so bad! Last time I saw her was yesterday morning and she was following my car along Sophie and Bobby on my way out of the beach, but they usually stay there.

Her 3 little puppies are all right.

How could you leave her poor dead body in the middle of the road. This breaks my heart.

This is so heartbreaking. I can't believe she is still laying there in the road.

I wished but it's too dangerous even for me to get in the middle of that road.

poor yadira. and i hate having her body still lying there but i know sandra would move her if she could. we certainly don't want to have SANDRA lying out in the road. yadira is gone and she doesn't feel anything anymore so we have to be thankful for that. and that sandra does have her 3 little ones safe at her home. ginny

what a sad sight to see, and i can't believe that you have to see it personally!! her puppies are lucky that you found them prior to this horrible situation. she is out of her misery and feels no pain........PR needs to step up and take care of it's hopeless animals......;-(

This absolutely broke my heart too, but we all know that Sandra loves these animals and would not leave this baby in the middle of the road if she could help it. If this image is hard on us, imagine what's it's like for her to see it first-hand. Sandra, thank you for all that you do.

The sad fact is that so many sweet dogs end up being hit just like this. I have seen while vacationing there. I think people somehow just get use to it and it makes me physically ill. Is it just too hard to slow down or honk or even STOP for a living creature? Thank goodness you have her pups, Sandra. I will send what I can to help them get a start at a better life.

Sandra - I saw the picture and I cried...I am usually a very tough person but when it comes to Dogs - I just can't take it. Poor Yadira - I wonder if she was following you looking for her pups? Her pain is over now but I hope she died knowing that there is a group of people that do care about dogs like her.

I know pistures like this may upset people, but it's the sad reality and I can't always do something--in fact most of the time I can't do anything. I went back to see if there were less traffic to try to pull the body away from the middle of the road but I couldn't bear to see what I saw.
