THIS IS BASICALLY A PHOTO DIARY
(OF THINGS HAPPENING MOSTLY AT DEAD DOG BEACH)
Can you take the pup to get treatment for mange? How much would that cost?
Sandra, were you able to treat the mange? I sure hope so, those poor little ones. Will they be rescued soon?!
It just seems that the more dogs you help the more that appear. Is the goverment doing anything at all to help this problem? It is so frustrating, it is like a never ending battle. However, the battle is well worth it for those lucky animals that find the way off the beach thanks to you and all others that in one way or other help this cause.
I'm gave them Ivermectin but that will take some time to clear the skin. Right now we have 6 puppies waiting to be rescued. I haven't received word if there are funds to do that yet.Government doesn't think the abandoned pets is a priority. Agencies like Tourism Company and hotel owners just want to get rid of the animals and they are pressing the government to collect the animals to put them down, so visitors won't see the animals on the streets and won't think there's a problem--without giving them a chance. I'm, of course against that because, fisrt of all it's not the animals fault so they don't need to be punished. The people that abandons their pets are the ones causing the problem but no one is punishing them for that--they just get away with it. We have laws that protect animals but they are not being properly enforced--if you saw something and go to the police, they don't care and try to dismiss you as crazy. There's no vigillance at the beach so it's very convenient for people to just leave them there. All of this is very frustrating.
you are doing a great job and i know that each little animal you feed, pet, love on, rescue, and speak a kind word to appreciate it and so do many of us. you truly are a hero!!! keep up the work!!!
