The new government of Puerto Rico is allowing the construction of a "Monkey Factory"--the company BioCulture--where these highly inlelligent and social beings are going to be bred and kept in captivity all their lives with the only purpose of selling them to laboratories to perform painful procedures on them causing them suffering and even death.
This is frankly--disgusting! I don't know if there's a petition site to vote against this barbaric practice but when I find one, i will post it here.
This so called Monkey Factory doesn't help at all this island's general sensitivity and respect to animal lives. People must think, "If the government doesn't care, why should we? Well--this is comletely wrong!!! The fact that the government and the police authorities don't care if animal mistreatment is a crime, don't make it right.
If you're againt this, please search the internet and let the government of Puerto Rico and the Tourism Company know that this is bad for the animals and the image of the island.

When I was going to the beach yesterday, I saw this scene: Kaly, one of the members of the wild pack that is usually hiding in the bushes, was dead in the middle of the road and one of her daughters--Kathy--was looking at her. Kaly had 2 daughters, Kathy and Kari and a young son. Kaly still has a brother, Tom.
Kaly and Tom were two of Molly's pups, one of the originals dogs I found when I started to go to the beach back in 2000. Molly disappeared several years ago. Molly was a nice energetic dog but all her pups grew up as wild and I could never approach to them. Most of them are noticed by their short tails.

... not because they come from outerspace, it's because they are taking every space at the beach this 4th of July weekend--including the dogs favorite spots.
Poor dogs look kind of lost.
I really hate 4th of July weekends--the beach is hell: people camping everywhere and pooping everywhere, more than dogs I tell you (I almost never see dog poop at the beach)! There are ATVs and motorcycles pursuing and annoying the dogs and thrash is everywhere!!! I don't really know what those people have inside their heads... they enjoy the holidays and they don't care about other people, other animals or the environment. They take spaces at the beach and fence them with ropes or cables like it's their property and they usually take more space than they really need.
